VOLUNTEERS are being sought by Kendal Judo Club’s head coach Mike Liptrot as the club prepares for a busy 2012.
The Dojo is currently hosting Fiji’s Sisilia Nasiga as she aims for Olympic qualification, but the Nauruan boxing team will arrive for three weeks at the end of January, while Papua New Guinea and Tonga have signed up to the pre-Olympic camps which will run later in the year.
And to ensure the smoothest of camps a lot of work is required, leading Liptrot to request help from the community.
He said: “We do not expect you to work full time, even just a couple of hours a week when we have athletes at the Dojo will be much appreciated. You do not have to have any special skills, just a willingness to put your hand to anything.”
A meeting will be held at the Dojo for anyone interested in finding out more about the volunteering opportunities on Tuesday, January 31, from 6.30pm.
