AMBLESIDE runners Jon Deegan and John Hooson dominated the latest Kendal Winter League race at Birkrigg Common, Ulverston, on Sunday.
Deegan led home Hooson for a 1-2 in the senior race as he finished in 19.15, just eight seconds clear of his club colleague.
Black Coombe’s William Rigg was third, a furth 13 seconds behind and Helm Hill’s Rory Addison finished fourth.
Mel Hyder’s dominance in the women’s race continued as she finished sixth overall to run in the winner, with Sam Noble second two minutes back. Settle’s Carol Evans was third.
Helm Hill’s Will Smith won the U17 race, with clubmate Chris Richards winning the U14 race and Joshua Newbold from Wharfedale taking the U12 event.
The series moves on to Fell End Clouds, between Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen, on Sunday.
