Bradford Park Avenue 4
Kendal Town 1
LEE Ashcroft's Kendal Town lost for the third time in five days as they went down 4-1 at Bradford Park Avenue on Monday night.

Town got off to a flier when midfielder Ashley Dunn latched on to an Alex Taylor through ball on nine minutes.

Dunn controlled well and rounded keeper John Lamb before firing home for a 1-0 lead.

But Avenue have been hot on the heels of Northwich Victoria and Chorley in the hunt for promotion and levelled just before the interval.

Nicky Matthews broke clear from Jordan Tucker, raced to the edge of the box and deftly lobbed Craig Dootson with the ball dropping centimetres under the crossbar.

The hosts were buoyed by their equaliser after the break and they turned the game round just two minutes after the restart.

A forward punt was not dealt with on the edge of the area and striker Tom Greaves was allowed to run onto the ball and strike it beyond Dootson.

Dootson came to Town's rescue moments later Nicky Boshel struck a zipping effort to his far post but two goals in two minutes sealed victory for the hosts.

On 58 minutes Ross Daly broke away from Tucker and his cross was met at the near post by Greaves for his second, with a placed flick nestling in Dootson's bottom right corner.

Daly was again provider just a moment later when Rob O'Brien raced to the near post to prod home to the same corner for 4-1.

The result sees Avenue climb to third while Town remain tenth ahead of this weekend's home game with Chasetown.
