Kendal 20, Penrith 17.
A Penrith comeback almost spoilt the party for Kendal who had led 20-3 with just over 10 minutes to go.
The visitors paid the price of giving away many penalties with Kendal Kiwi kicker Patrick Tuhakaraina taking advantage to slot over five.
In a dominant first half Kendal pressure also brought an unconverted try with full-back Simon MulHolland coming into the line to receive a superb long pass from fly-half Massey Tuhakaraina and touching down wide out to the right.
Over elaborate play in the second half coupled with Penrith resurgence as Kendal tired saw the gap suddenly close as Penrith winger Coenrad Jansen converted a penalty, ran through for a try in the corner and then kicked an excellent conversion to make the score 20-10. A Penrith pushover try after Kendal lost prop Billy Coxon to a second yellow card for killing the ball was also converted by Jansen and at 20-17 Kendal were hanging on and glad to hear the final whistle.
