Silverstone crash can't stop Ellison from more points in Netherlands
10:00am Friday 6th July 2012 in Sport
BATTLE-scarred James Ellison bagged more MotoGP World Championship points in the Dutch TT at Assen, but the British rider was badly hindered by the effects of his Silverstone crash.
The CRT rider finished in 14th place for the second successive race on the PBMUK machine, but described the result as 'a bad day at the office'.
Ellison, who lost out on 13th place on the final lap when he was passed by Valentino Rossi – who had been forced to make a pit stop to change his rear tyre – said: “To sum it up bluntly, it was a bad day at the office.
“I was in a lot of pain from my Silverstone crash and have been getting treatment and painkillers before and after every session but it just proved too difficult in the race.”
Ellison will be back in action this weekend in Sunday’s German MotoGP.
