Warton reign supreme in South Westmorland Seniors Bowling League

WARTON A have been crowned league champions of the South Westmorland Seniors Bowling League after edging Netherfield A out by just one point.

Silverdale A have finished third while Victoria A and Heversham A have been relegated.

The winners of Division Two are Holme A with 105 points.

Second place, and promotion to the top division, was an altogether different matter with four teams tied on 97 points. The four teams, Subscription A, Bolton-le-Sands, Kirkby Lonsdale A and Crosthwaite A, took part in a playoff.

Subscription A and Bolton-le-Sands won the semi-finals and the latter beat Subscription 5-3 in a closely fought contest to secure the remaining promotion place.

Teams in Division Three and Four are still to play their last game of the season.
