Kendal bodybuilder figures highly in Sheffield championships

KENDAL strongwoman Helen Thwaites has been among the award winners again in the Natural Bodybuilding Championships Mike Williams Classic in Sheffield.

The 35-year-old won Best Figure in the Tall and Small class, as well as Best Posing Position in the competition which former glamour model Jodie Marsh entered last year.

This year Thwaites decided to go for a complete change and entered a different category in the Miss Trained Figure - again a feminine physique with muscle tone and symmetry but which requires more of a graceful look.

All girls in the category had to perform a series of compulsory moves whilst standing on five-inch heels, then perform individual routines to display their bodies to the best of their abilities.

The win means Thwaites, a former gymnast, has qualified for the British Finals held at the end of the year.

She said: “This latest win has meant a great deal to me as I have been working hard towards it for the last year.

“I was absolutely thrilled to win.”

i assume tall and small means tall in height and small as in smaller less bulked up muscles.

The class Helen competes in is Trained Figure which is less 'bulky' than the other women's class which is known as Physique. The Figure category is then split by height into 2 classes taller in one, shorter in another.
