TALENTED siblings from Ambleside AC shone through in the Cumbria cross country championships from Crooklands on Saturday.

Brothers James and Harry Bowen finished first and second in the under 11 boys' race while Chloe Rylance was victorious in the under 13 girls' event and her sister was runner-up in the under 11 girls' race. She was beaten to the line by Hoad Hill's Olesia Winder.

Other notable performances by young Ambleside athletes was Oliver Gajdowski claiming second in the under 15 boys' race just seven seconds adrift of Border's Oliver Dustin.

Kendal athletes performed well in the senior races with Rebecca Robinson romping to victory in the senior ladies' race and Alistair Russell placing third in the senior mens' race behind the Keswick pairing of John Battrick and Steve Hebblethwaite.
