DRAGONS and knights were seen as 400 runners turned out over the weekend for two St George's Day 10ks at Great Langdale.
Befitting the theme, it was hot work in the sun, but Saturday's times were faster with winner Daniel Soltys clocking 33-58 from Stuart Robinson (Aragons Tri) 34-39 and Jason Harris (Border) 35-37.
Lauren Cooper (Lancaster & Morcambe) was the first woman in 41-19.
Sunday's winner was Howard Seal (Derwent AC) in 36-10 from Brendan Bolland (Horwich) 37-22 and Alan Beech (Cumbria) 38-34.
Helm Hill's Kathleen Aubrey was first woman in 39-41.
Veteran Dr Conrad Slater (Kendal AC) won the Over-75s award.
