Ricky's too tricky for the rest in Borrowdale fell race

RICKY Lightfoot from Ellenborough won the gruelling 16.2-mile Borrowdale fell race in a time of 3.49.20.
In an ultra-competitive event, he defeated 2011 English Fell Running Championship winner Lloyd Taggert by one and a half minutes.
The winner of the 2011 Borrowdale race Ben Abdelnoor from Ambleside was fourth, while Howgill Harrier Carl Bell came home fifth.
The 2011 British Fell Running champion Morgan Donnelly came home sixth ahead of Staveley’s Rob Jebb in seventh.
Jasmin Paris (Carnethy), winner at Wasdale fell race last month, won the females’ event in a time of 3:32.03, 96 seconds ahead of fellow club member Helen Bonsor.
Lauren Jeska from Todmorden Harriers was third.
Bell went on to win the 12.8-mile Howtown fell race, a convincing 10 minutes ahead of Eden Runner Sam Ware who clocked 2.14.37. Ambleside’s Chris Robinson was third.
Of the ladies FV40 Steph Scott crossed the line first from NFR in 3.03.45.
Denise Tunstall was second 18 minutes behind Scott.
