BURNLEY'S James Anderson has signed an extension to his existing contract with Lancashire County Cricket Club.
The 31-year-old seam bowler, who grew up playing Lancashire League cricket for the Turf Moor outfit before hitting fame with England, has committed his immediate future to the county by adding an extra year to his current deal which will keep him at Emirates Old Trafford until the end of the 2015 season.
The Lancastrian made his debut for the Red Rose in 2002 and was selected to play for England shortly afterwards.
He played a vital role in the recent Investec Ashes Test series against Australia to help England secure a 3-0 victory. He will be travelling to Australia with the England squad during the winter, and will be a key component of the England bowling attack as they attempt to retain the Ashes urn Down Under.
Anderson said: "I am always proud to wear the Lancashire shirt and I am delighted to extend my stay.
“It was great to return to Emirates Old Trafford in the summer for the Investec Ashes Test match and use the great the facilities after the ground’s redevelopment.”
