KENDAL's season came to a close as they were crushed by ten wickets at the hands of Barrow at Shap Road.

Daryl Wearing returned figures of 6-12 as Kendal were dismissed for just 66, with the visitors easing home to finish on 70-0.

The Auld Greys only had ten players and Brad Woldan step in as sub-professional following the departure of Eldred Hawken.

Kendal won the toss opted to bat, however they were in trouble after just seven overs when Saeed Bariwala was bowled by Wearing.

Once Bariwala had departed more wickets soon followed as the dangerous Wearing trapped Paul Doods LBW for 10 before bowling Darren Nightingale off his next delivery, with Kendal now on 15-3.

Woldan put in some good shots to start off with before picking out Dean Williams in the ninth over with Wearing claiming his third wicket of the afternoon.

Kendal's Richard Herron was then trapped LBW by Wearing in the 13th over before the bowler completed his stunning effort by bowling Lewis Richardson leaving Kendal on 28-6 off just 15 overs.

Shane Hyland offered some resistance as he scored his 500th run for the season, with Hyland digging in for 21 before being trapped LBW by Garry Collins.

Collins went on to take the wicket of Joseph Dodds who was stumped by Chris D’Leny before Tharanga Paranavitana claimed the wicket of skipper Chris Miller, who picked out Sam Dutton for 12.

With very little to chase Barrow raced home in just 13.5 overs with Williams and Paranavitana both unbeaten on 32.

The defeat means Kendal finish the season second-bottom with Preston, who have failed to win a game all season, propping them up.
