Kendal and Netherfield will face each other in the First Round of The Readers Cup on Sunday June 19.

The tie, to be played at Shap Road, promises to be an exciting encounter, in a game which has seen Netherfield dominate in recent seasons. Kendal will, however, point to the victory over their derby rivals last season at Parkside Road.

The Second Division of The Readers Cup sees Netherfield's 2nds host Kendal's 2nds in the first round, with the game also being played on Sunday, June 19.

Both sides are currently putting things in place for the new season. Netherfield have already announced that Ben Barrow will take over as Club Captain for the new campaign whils Ben Phillips also returns to the club.

Netherfield have, however, lost Marc Brown to Carlisle, while their search for a professional continues.

The club returns to winter nets on Thursday, February 4, at Carnforth High School. Nets run between 9pm and 10pm right through until the end of March.

Netherfield have also been given an away draw in the Royal London Championship, where they travel to play Clitheroe on Sunday, April 24. The winners of the tie will go on to host either Lytham or Garstang in the next round.

The Parkside Road side have also confirmed they will host East Lancashire Cricket Club in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, April 9

There has bene no news on the playing front for Kendal. The club has been busy dealing with the devastating flood damage that was caused to its Shap Road Ground, when Storm Desmond hit near Christmas. Everyone involved at Kendal Cricket Club has been working hard to ensure the ground will be ready for the start of the season.

The Northern Cricket League season gets under way on Saturday, April 16, with Netherfield hosting St Annes and Kendal travelling to play league champions Morecambe at Woodhill Lane.
