NETHERFIELD Seconds won all their three games during a huge weekend for Scott Clement's side - including a cup win.

On Saturday The Field beat Blackpool by three wickets to remain just one off the pace behind leaders Leyland.

Blackpool had been restricted to 146-8 as Isaac Medhurst returned figures of 3-33.

In reply Netherfield knocked the runs off on the last ball of the second to last over as they closed on 147-7 with Liam Dugdale top scoring with 58. Clement weighed in with 36 runs. Stuart Nixon picked up the winning run.

On Sunday Netherfield retained the John Scott Cup Trophy after defeating Penrith by three wickets in the final.

The seconds, who won the toss, elected to bat and posted a competitive total of 174-7 off 40 overs. Dan Gaunt top scored with 48 off 64. Theo Gallagher also put on a good knock of 37 off 62, while Brendan Herron scored 31 runs.

In reply Penrith were bowled out for 112 in 36 overs. Mike Curran and Liam Dugdale claimed three wickets each, while Stuart Nixon and Clement each took one. Gaunt claimed four stumpings from behind the wicket

On Bank Holiday Monday Netherfield picked up a comfortable seven wicket league win at Kendal. The hosts whittled out for 82 in 41.3 overs. Nixon returned figures of 4-12, while Mike Curran took 3-15.

In reply Netherfield knocked the runs off in 24.5 overs. Gaunt was the top scorer with an undefeated knock of 46.

Kendal Seconds were defeated by Lancaster by five wickets at Shap Road on Saturday.

Oliver Tyson (73), Finlay Richardson (65) and Alec Carradus (10) were the only batsmen to make double figures as Kendal posted 174 all out.

Faizan Khan (89) was the main man for Lancaster as they knocked off the total in 33.1 overs.
