FORMER Netherfield overseas player Tom Bruce has made his debut for New Zealand in the Black Caps' Twenty20 series against Bangladesh.

Bruce made his debut on January 3 in a six-run win for New Zealand and even shared his wicket with Kane Williamson, the fourth-best ranked batsman in the world.

Although being run out for seven runs on debut, he fared significantly better second time out three days later.

In just his second appearance for his country, Bruce hit an unbeaten 59 runs from 39 balls as New Zealand again won, this time by 47 runs.

Netherfield meanwhile have announced the start of indoor preparations as they gear up for the new campaign.

Senior indoor nets sessions get under way at Dallam Sports Centre in Milnthorpe, every Sunday evening between 6-8pm, from 29 January.

The club are also running an introductory cricket course for primary School children. These start on Tuesday, 21 February at Kendal Leisure Centre's Westmorland Hall. These sessions will be running every Tuesday for four weeks between 5 and 6.30pm.
