Kendal Cricket Club's Third Team progressed into the next round of the Woodbridge and Mounsey Cup after an emphatic nine wicket win over Bolton Le Sands' Second Team.

The Twenty 20 cup contest that had been reduced to 16 overs aside was the only cricket to take place in Kendal after heavy rain on Saturday wiped out both Kendal and Netherfield first and second team fixtures.

Kendal's thirds who fielded a young team, had an easy afternoon after both Josh Burrow and Will Yarker picked up three wickets each in the first innings to dismiss Bolton Le Sands for 32.

The thirds knocked the runs off in just 6 overs after Steve Watson finished undefeated on 12, while Pat Savage chipped in with 12 runs.

Bolton Le Sands, who only had nine players, won the toss and elected to bat, however Kendal soon got into the opening attack after Taylor Finch bowled B Anderton in the second over.

The visitors struggled onto 22 mainly thanks to the batting of A Carruthers however Will Yarker picked up two quick wickets to dismiss Carruthers for LBW before seeing off S Anderton who picked out Trent Knowles.

Bolton Le Sands were reduced to 27-5 after Megan Berry dismissed S Brown before Will Yarker finished with a return of 3-8 after R Willans tame effort was well taken by Dave Storer.

Josh Burrow cleaned the innings up to dismiss B Atkinson,D Atkinson and R Edge as Burrow closed on a return of 3-3, while Bolton Le Sands were all out for 32 off 13 overs

In reply Steve Watson and Pat Savage scored 12 runs a piece, before Savage was caught and bowled by A Carruthers.

However Watson and Dave Storer guided Kendal to victory as the Auld Greys closed on 33-1 off 6 overs.
