Netherfield defeated Morecambe by 25 runs in the Twenty-20 competition at the weekend.

The Field, who continued their good run of form, played well against a resilient team at Woodhill Lane.

After winning the toss and electing to bat Netherfield posted a competitive total of 133-5.

Ben Barrow and Lewis Edge put on a first wicket stand of 46 as Netherfield made a good start.

South African Professional Obus Pienaar made a top score of 54 before former Morecambe player Josh Dixon finished undefeated on 17.

In reply Morecambe struggled with Viraj Bhati the main contributor with 43, however Tom Williamson returned figures of 3-18, while Marc Hadwin claimed 2-22. Mark Clarkson and Nathan Chambers also picked up a wicket as Morecambe were restricted to 108-7 off 20 overs.

Netherfield's next Twenty-20 game is in a fortnight where they play a double header against Lancaster and Morecambe.
