RIBBLESDALE Wanderers captain Jordan Britcliffe is hoping past experience can help his side claim Ramsbottom Cup glory.

Wanderers are on the road to Padiham in Sunday’s semi-final bidding to win their fourth final in the last eight seasons.

The Section B side are in the thick of a promotion race which continues with a trip to Feniscowles tomorrow before the cup takes centre stage.

And Britcliffe can call on six players who have already tasted Ramsbottom Cup success for the trip to Padiham.

“That has to help us,” he said. “I have a squad of 12 and am struggling to think who to leave out.

“We have five or six lads who have won it with us before and we are looking forward to it.

“Our main aim this season was to get promotion and we still want to do that but the cup run has been great and we want to make sure we reach the final now.

“It will be a tough game, Padiham are a good side but we have beaten them already this season and that will give us confidence.

“Before that we have Feniscowles at home in the league. They have been doing okay this season but if we can win that then it will set us up nicely for Sunday.”

Wanderers will be without opening bowler Sam Jackson for the cup clash.

The other last four clash sees Section A leaders and cup favourites Settle travel to Section B side Salesbury.

Both semi-finals start at 1pm and the final is on Sunday, August 5, at Read.
