Blackpool top the 3D Sports Northern Premier Cricket League table after securing a winning draw at fellow title contenders Kendal.

Without a match on Saturday, they collected seven points at overnight leaders Kendal on Sunday with the home side taking four so just two points now separates the sides.

Blackpool, inserted to bat, mustered 160 with professional Saj Weerakoon top-scoring with 54 as off-spinner Ben Simm collected 5 for 59. Kevin Howarth weighed in with three for 26.

Kendal were struggling at 76 for 6 in the 26th over with Richard Gleeson and Weerakoon each collecting two wickets. But the seventh wicket pair of Gareth Ashburner and Nick Lewthwaite then safely batted out time, posting an unbroken partnership of 51 to earn a draw.

St Annes were frustrated at Chorley on Saturday, the home side holding on for a draw with nine wickets down. The prolific Atiq Uz-Zaman hit 95 as a depleted St Annes side reached 184 for 9, sharing a stand of 77 for the third wicket with Stephen Twist (31).

Chorley closed on 162 for 9, last pair Billy Smith and Jim Lee salvaging a draw. Twist and pro Mansoor Ahmed each took three wickets.

St Annes were well beaten by Netherfield at home the following day. Australian pro Callum Ferguson scored 103 not out - his fourth successive league century as Netherfield reached 244 for 7.

St Annes were bowled out for 147 in reply, Gareth Evans making 53, and lost their last six wickets for 16 runs as Netherfield's Cumberland county off-spinner Chris Miller took 5 for 31.

Fleetwood continue to struggle losing to Netherfield by 80 runs on Saturday after being bowled out for 137 and by five wickets to Barrow on Sunday despite posting a compettive score of 183-9.
