Fylde Cricket Club’s all-rounder Andrew Furniss has won the Moore and Smalley sponsored Palace Shield player of the month award for July.
Andrew, from Poulton, took 19 wickets at an average of 7.1 in the month, and also scored 193 runs at an average of 64.3.
The 25-year-old, who works in finance for BAE Systems at Warton, has been at the club since he was eight, when he played for the under 11s.
He has been in the first XI for ten years and now in his second season as captain.
He received a bottle of bubbly from Deborah Wood, a partner at Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors.
Deborah Wood said: “Andrew thoroughly deserves the player of the month award for his high run and wicket tally during July, and also for leading by example as captain of the first team.”
