Australia paceman Ryan Harris has been declared fit for the third Test against England beginning in Perth on December 16.
The 31-year-old former Lowerhouse professional was in doubt for the game after appearing to injure his shoulder while bowling in Australia’s second Test loss in Adelaide.
But the Australia camp announced today a scan had cleared the quick of any serious damage and stated he was able to bowl unrestricted.
Harris has had injury concerns in the past, and the Adelaide Test was his first in nine months after he suffered a knee injury in a one-day international match against England in July.
Harris was the pick of the home side’s bowlers in Adelaide, with figures of two for 84 from his 29 overs in England’s only innings, and his availability is sure to be a boost for the beleaguered Australian side already missing opener Simon Katich with an Achilles tendon injury.
