CUMBERLAND CCC head to Oxfordshire to play the second game of the MCCA Trophy following a narrow defeat against Cheshire at Parkside Road,Kendal.

A number of playeres are unavailable due to club commitments, but that paves the way for other players to come into contention for a permanent place in the team.

Out of the team are Alex Roberts, Marcus Sharp, Carl Hey, Alex Stead and Andy Gleave and their places are taken by Dalton professional Graham Dawson, Middlesbrough CC's James Beaumont and James Lowe. Local players Jonathon Miles, Chris Miller of Netherfield, Callum Moffatt and Matthew Gorley will be hoping to make an impression.

Although the game against Cheshire was disappointing to lose the Cumberland team can take great heart in the fact they had Cheshire on the rails and only an outstanding solo performance from Daniel Berry was between them and causing an upset.

Skipper James Smith will be positive in his players' ability to compete. Outstanding performances from Stead and Conway were the feature of the Cumberland performance.

Gary Pratt and Dan Conway are the other Cumberland players in the team with the 11th player to be confirmed.
