Cricket - Netherfield U16s do double

NETHERFIELD Cricket Club Junior section rounded off a fantastic season with three finals on the last day of the season. The U11, U13 and U16s won their northern sections of the Westmorland League and then played against the winners of the southern section.

The U16s (pictured right) beat Lancaster and also won a replayed cup final against Milnthorpe.

The U11s lost to Shireshead without five of their regular squad and the U13s lost to Lancaster.

Five players represented the county at U17s level - Dan Davidson, Shane Hyland, Josh Stafford, John Huck and Ben Barrow, whilst Ross Davies played at both U14 and 15, Bradley Earl played at U12 and Liam Dugdale at U10.

Graham Baker won the David Wheatman award at the Junior Presentation night.

U16s Cup Final: Milnthorpe 89 (Davies 4-6), Netherfield 90-3 (Baker 24no) - man of the match Ross Davies. U13s play-off: Lancaster 97-9 (Burton 3-14), Netherfield 49 - man of the match Lewis Burton.
