TO mark their 25th season Windermere Taverners Cricket Club are holding a celebration weekend, with a special match on Queens Park, Windermere, this Sunday.
After a gala dinner at the Hydro Hotel on Saturday, August 15, the Taverners will play a Windermere Invitation XI on Sunday, August 16, including, Gordon Burns of BBC televison's North West Tonight programme, the Kendal CC professional Ross McMillan and Tim Farron MP (1pm start).
Other attractions include a junior kwik cricket match, a ju-jitsu demonstration, a falconry display, a steel band, ferret racing and a tombola and other stalls.
Refreshments and a bar will be available. Local businesses have, with the help of generous donations, sponsored the event.
