NETHERFIELD Cricket Club captain Ben Barrow will continue to lead the team during the 2017 campaign, it was decided at a players' meeting.
Barrow, who is currently wintering in New Zealand, was the number one choice by the squad to take on the captaincy for a second consecutive season. His first season in charge proved successful as the team from Parkside Road won the readers cup as well as enjoying improved form in the Northern Premier Cricket League.
The club also announced that Scott Clement would stay on as second team captain, while Martin Boyd retains the captaincy for the fourth team. The only change comes with the 3rd team as Steve Wilson will take over from Neil McDonnell. The thirds will be playing in Westmorland League Division Two this season after gaining promotion from the 3rd division last season.
