Rain blights Jamie Heywood T20 Finals Day

FURTHER rain spoiled attempts to get the Jamie Heywood Twenty20 Finals Day at Morecambe CC off to a smooth start

After heavy overnight showers, the ground was deemed fit at 7am but Kendal were 6-1 when the rain came again and it looks as if the day will be rescheduled for next week provisionally.

The Blackpool v Darwen tie was scheduled to get off at 2pm with the final due at 5pm-5.30pm.

The mid-July deluge forced the abandonment of both Kendal and Netherfield's FBS Northern League matches yesterday (Saturday) without a ball bowled.

Netherfield were due to entertain Lancaster at Parkside Road, while Kendal were away at Darwen.
