STUART Nixon again showed a liking for the Fleetwood sea air in Netherfield’s six-wicket win at Broadwater on Saturday.
Last year Nixon plundered 9-77 in this fixture and finished a loser,but the swing bowler’s 6-69 return counted in a 12-point win that lifts his side into third place in the table.
Fleeetwod stood at 11-2 but Adam Parker and Mike Clinning shared a third-wicket stand of 88 before Parker was eighth out for 85 (five 4s, four 6s).
When Netherfield replied, Marc Brown and Alex Atkinson prospered to add 94 for the second wickets.
The scoreboard showed 101 when Brown went for 36 and lathough Chris Parry followed quickly, Atkinson held things together, adding 34 wuith John Huck to take them to 141 before he was caught at cover for 78 off 82 balls (10 4s, 2 6s).
It was left to Huck (29) and John Mason (32) to carry on the good work making the necessary 40 to bring up victory at 181 for four with 4.3 overs to spare.
