It’s now a two way battle for the title in Westmorland League Division One as both Keswick and Kendal United remain in contention after picking up crucial wins.

Keswick, who are now just three points clear at the top of the league, kept their advantage intact after a comfortable 4-0 home win over Ambleside United.

Richard Bannister scored a brace with Andy Rigg and Sam Reilly also on target.

At Bulmire Stripes Kendal United continued to keep up with the leaders after an emphatic 5-0 home win over Penrith Reserves.

Andy Lockhart scored twice, while Danny Craig, Aiden Dent and Greg Pearce completed the scoring.

In the other games, Wetheriggs United battled to a 2-0 win at Kendal County Reserve, Jordan Lawson and Keiron Wallace with the goals.

Ibis won 2-0 at Kirkoswald, as Josh Ford and Darren Nightingale sealed the points. Windermere moved up to fourth in the league as they defeated bottom of the table Unisun Athletic 3-1.

In the High Sheriff's Cup, Lunesdale United won 3-1 after extra time at Appleby, Jordan Kenny, Joel Law and Ben Collinson with the crucial strikes.

Wetheriggs United Reserve remained top of Westmorland League Division Two as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Burneside.

Kendal United Reserves picked up a much-needed three points as they won 2-1 at Carleton Banks. Kendal are now second in the table, thanks to goals from Matt Kennedy and Joe Sharrock.

In the other Division Two games, Dent won 4-0 at Ambleside United Reserve, Greystoke edged out Coniston in a 4-3 thriller, Langwathby United defeated Endmoor KGR 3-0, while Staveley United defeated Shap 8-4.

In Westmorland League Division Three goals by Joe Garner, Niko Noreci and Shaun Gardner helped Endmoor KGR Reserve to a shock 3-2 win at Burneside Reserves.

A Jack Baxter brace helped Windermere Reserve to a 5-3 win at Dent Reserve. Matt Harby scored an 89th minute winner for Ibis Reserve as they defeated Appleby Reserve 3-2.

Penrith Royal won 2-1 at Lunesdale United Reserve, while Kirkoswald Reserve are up to second in the table after an 8-1 win at Penrith Academy.

AFC Carlisle also won 8-1 as they defeated Penrith Saints, while Ullswater United put six past Greystoke Reserve in a 6-1 win.
