Cricket - Day of junior finals as title are settled

THE Westmorland Junior League Championships reaches their climax this Sunday, September 5.

As always the Northern and Southern league winners will play off in each age group in a 30 overs a side contest to decide which team will become the overall League Champions.

The Under 16 'Mansfield' Championship will be played at Warton CC 2pm start, between Kendal and Lancaster, Kendal will be looking to turn round the heavy defeat suffered to Lancaster in the Westmorland KnockOut Cup, two weeks ago.

The Under-14 League Championship will be played at Trimpell CC 2.00pm start, where Lancaster will take on Netherfield 'A'.

The Under-12 'Lockwood' Championship and the Under 10s 'Soft Ball' Championship feature the same two clubs and both games will take place at Heysham CC. At 11am Netherfield 'A' Under-12’s will be looking to reverse the narrow defeat suffered to Shireshead Under 12s in the Knock-Out Cup recently. And then at 3.00pm Shireshead under 10s will play Netherfield “A” under 10’s in the soft-ball pairs competition.

The League wish to thank the host clubs for the use of their facilities and their continued support of Westmorland League Junior Cricket.

Spectators are welcome at all the venues, admission is free.
