SHIRESHEAD made the most of the Windermere wicket to gain 15 points on a good day for the bowler.

It was the introduction of Pete Dodd (3-17), supported by Mike Park (2-22), that brought about the hosts’ demise. Windermere were all out for 102 of which James Crawford made 34.

Shires slipped to 19-4 in reply as Matt Park (2-18) and Crawford (2-37) got among the top order. Liam Parkinson’s unbeaten 40 with nine boundaries in a 76-run stand with Depak Garg (31) put them back on course and Mike Park struck the winning runs with 23 overs to spare at 103-5.

HEYSHAM claimed 15 points against Burneside despite having been 40-4. Chris Boak (32) and Andrew Powers (22) repaired the damage before Sam Calverley (20) and Ollie Dobson (14) took the total to 149.

Burneside were on course at 38-0 but 16-year-old Sam McClements (3-10) stalled the run-chase and Sam Calverley and Paul Antcliffe also took two wickets apiece as Burneside were all out for 131.

A MARK Clarkson hat-trick was not enough for Bolton-le- Sands to take the scalp of leaders Warton on Saturday as the table toppers claimed 15 points.

Openers Phil Bovis and Tony Barrow put on 96 out of a total of 184. Mark Clarkson took 6-22 for Sands, with the wickets of Ricky Nelson, Jack Tugman and Adam Weatherill giving him a hat-trick. But the damage was already done and Sands were all out for 109 in the 36th over with Andrew Ideson taking 6-37.

A PARTNERSHIP of 148 between Kevin Howarth (85) and Adam Richardson (77) saw Arnside comfortably defeat Kirkby Lonsdale for 15 points. Arnside declared on 253-5 before dismissing their hosts for 65, with Rob Shepherd (4-14) and Chris Howsley (4-26) enjoying the spoils.

MILNTHORPE bowlers Lee Illingworth (5-13) and Jono Cooper (5-31) shared the wickets as they rushed Sedgwick out for just 49. Mike Wills had knocked an unbeaten 61 not out out of Milnthorpe’s 189-5 declared before the bowling duo took charge.Ably supported by Mike Park (2-22).
