THE Westmorland Cricket League is looking for umpires to increase the numbers of officials available to cover this summer’s matches.
The league consists of 31 clubs across South Cumbria, North Lancashire and the West Riding of Yorkshire, with a total of 56 sides competing in five divisions.
League secretary Ian Beeston said: “Whether you are an experienced umpire, a recently retired player or just someone who wishes to contribute in this way to the game of cricket, an opportunity exists for you.
“You might wish to join the league’s panel of neutral umpires who officiate in the Division One and Two games or you might prefer to make a start by being introduced to your local club and standing in at their matches.”
