IT WAS a disappointing afternoon for Kendal Towns Ladies as they lost 5-2 to unbeaten CMB at The Lancaster and Morecambe College Stadium.

Individual errors proved to be the theme of the game as Kendal played a very good CMB side who are at the opposite end of the table.

It was Kendal's fifth loss of the season as they languish third from bottom in the North West Women's Regional League Division One North.

In the first half, Kendal found themselves 3-0 down at the break, the visitors capitalising on poor Kendal play all over the pitch.

It could have been worse as CMB also missed a penalty and a string of other opportunities.

Kendal did have chances in the first half mainly from the dangerous Heather Ramsay who’s pace terrorised the visiting defence on many occasions.

In the second half, Kendal kept battling only to fall 4-0 down.

Showing real team spirit they pulled one back through none other than the dogged Heather Ramsay who outpaced the defence yet again to unleash a clinical finish past the keeper from close range.

Unfortunately CMB soon responded.

They made it 5-1 as Kendal goalkeeper Jen Carradus dislocated her finger when she tried to prevent the ball from going into the net.

Kendal then made it 2-5, when the prolific Ramsay scrambled the ball home for her second of the afternoon.

After that Town could have added a third only for Faye Armstrong to see her effort hit the cross bar as the referee brought an end to a frustrating afternoon

The team did show spells of good play but they were off the pace against such high quality opposition.

Heather Ramsay won the Woman of the Match award which was chosen by the visitors.

Kendal’s next game is away to bottom of the league Workington Ladies on Sunday, October 26.

They then travel to Leigh RMI, who are second bottom, on November 2.

The Mintcakes will be hoping to pick up six valuable points against weak opposition and launch a charge up the table.
