THE MINTCAKES are welcoming a new signing to the Lancaster and Morecambe College Stadium.

Striker Jordan Connerton has put pen to paper on a new contract for the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier side.

The 25 year old hit man has been in top form since he returned to the Mintcakes following a recent stay in Australia where he played for Melbourne’s Doncaster Rovers Soccer Club, delighting home crowds with his goals.

The former Crewe Alexandra player has netted 10 times in just five games and has been attracting interest from a number of senior clubs.

Connerton said: “I'm delighted to pledge my immediate future to Kendal Town. It’s great to be back here and I am enjoying my football more than ever. My appetite for the game has never been as good. The gaffer Michael Stringfellow is assembling a good squad at Kendal and I want to play a big part in our play off push. We are starting to hit form right now and there is a good feel about the club. Everyone is buzzing"

Chairman Haydon Munslow added: “I am really pleased we have secured Jordan’s services. I know from talking to our supporters as I circulate the ground on match days and in the club bar, Finney’s, after the games having a striker of Jordan’s quality in the squad is seen as a very important part of our progress. Jordan’s endorsement and wanting to be part of what we are now achieving at Kendal Town when he had excellent offers from elsewhere gives us all a further big lift."
