FLASHES of quality shone through the clouds on a rain affected weekend in the Kent Valley Junior Football League.

Only four games survived the terrible weekend weather but while conditions were dire, play certainly was not.

The most important game to survive was the top of the table clash between Ibis Under 12's and Kendal Under 12's.

Kendal managed to extend their lead at the top of the league to six points after goals from Tom Humble and Christian Dixon led them to a 2-1 victory.

Joshua Wilson scored for Ibis but it was of little consolation.

In the under 15 league, Kirkby Stephen won 4-1 away at Grange.

Liam Mason was Kirkby's stand out performer as he scored a superb hat trick to open up daylight between the two sides.

Ryan Law also got himself onto the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Heathwaite's Under 15's put six goals past a hapless Milnthorpe United.

In the Under 16 league Wattsfield United won again to claim top spot in the table.

Wattsfield beat Appleby 2-0 to take them four clear of second placed Kendal United.

However, Wattsfield's time at the top could be short lived as Kendal hold the advantage with three games in hand and boast a 100% undefeated record.
