RELEGATION contenders College AFC pulled off a major shock to beat fourth-placed Bentham, who had only lost once previously.

College took the lead through Pietr Piesteel before Gary Taylor scored a goal out of nothing. It looked at this stage as though Bentham would go on and win the game but the rugged College defence stood solid.

In a rare attack College were awarded a penalty with just 10 minutes remaining from which Gary Davies scored to give College a surprise lead.

Bottom club Trimpell and Bare Rangers picked up three points in a 2-1 win over Bowerham.

Goals from Aidan Dunphy and Sam Sandham won it for the Trimpell side with Luke Foxcroft scoring the Bowerham goal.

Title-hopefuls Carnforth Rangers slipped up again when they lost 2-1 to Cartmel and District.
