MULTIPLE incidents of assault have led to arrests at the Boxing Day football derby between Kendal Town and Lancaster City.
Trouble marred the Evo-Stik First Division North enoucnter with the match grinding to a halt as a result of the disruption in the second half.
Cumbria Constabulary has said two arrests have been made following the fixture at Kendal’s home ground at Park Side Road.
A spokesperson said: "Officers have arrested two men on suspicion of assault. The arrests relate to separate alleged assaults.
"Three men suffered minor facial injuries. A fourth man sustained no injuries. Both arrested men are currently in police custody."
The game resumed and finished 1-0 to the Mintcakes.
The coach carrying Lancaster City supporters away from the Pye Motors Stadium was escorted out of the county by Cumbria Police to ensure no further disorder.
