Unbeaten in the Under-14 league, Wattsfield rounded off a marvellous season on Wednesday night by winning their third cup.

The side first won the Dallam Tower Cup, beating Wattsfield United 2-1 in the final with goals from Luke Jacobs and Michael Wilson.

They then lifted the Austin Wren Trophy with a 3-1 win against Milnthorpe, Michael Wilson (2) and Daniel Reeve the goalscorers.

On Wednesday night they met Walney Island in the Kent/Furness Trophy and in a nail-biting final the score was 2-2 at the end of extra time. Wattsfield then won a thrilling penalty shoot-out 5-4 Appleby Under-16s won the Westmorland Minor Cup for the first time. Against Keswick they went a goal down in the first minute, but Stephen Davies equalised two minutes later. Mark Ousby and Tony Johnson (2) increased the Appleby lead to 4-1 by half-time and there was no further score.

Kendal United A picked up their first ever silverware when they won the Under-14 section of Milnthorpe Junior FC's annual five-a-side tournament. They beat Heathwaite B 4-1 in the final.

Nearly 70 teams took part and other winners were: Under-8 Milnthorpe Town, runners-up - Kirkby Stephen; Under-10 Heathwaite, runners-up Milnthorpe Town; Under-12 Milnthorpe United, runners-up Milnthorpe.
