Ashcroft ban: Kendal Town regulars have their say

“It is way overboard. We are a little club and already struggling and to impose such a ban of that extent is ridiculous.

“Many of the players came to the club because of Lee and they wanted to play for him.

"With Ian Kilford they are good friends and everyone will play well for him.

"I just have my fingers crossed we get promotion for him.”

Ian Croskell, security guard at Kendal Town.

“Lee is a fiery character and it is his own fault in some ways but I feel sorry for him in another as it is a harsh penalty.

“It is a lengthy ban for non-league football especially when you see what Premier League managers get away with.

"The ban could take its toll on the players but they are a strong team and they won’t drop their enthusiasm going into the end of the season.”

Lifelong fan Ian Walker.

“I’m surprised the FA upheld the appeal. People have done the same thing but they get a lesser penalty, it’s not fair.

“I fully support the law but it is clearly not being applied across the board equally.”

Fan Chris Wrigley.

“I find the whole thing ridiculous, how can they go and punish a club of Kendal’s size, it's hard enough at that level without a ban of this magnitude!

“Interesting times ahead I feel as Kendal look for promotion, could go one of two ways, but hopefully they can rally together and make that final push!”

Fan Richard Edmondson.
