LAST season’s Premier League runners-up Cartmel and District were stunned in their opening game of the new campaign when new boys Swarthmoor beat them 1-0, courtesy of a Graham Wilcock goal.
Carnforth Rangers, who finished fourth last year, have had an average start to the season with two 1-1 draws. On Thursday they were held to a 1-1 draw with Bentham, having missed a spot kick, while Gavin Darby nabbed a late leveller against Slyne with Hest on Saturday.
Highgrove are looking good this season with two wins from two. A 4-1 win against Galgate in midweek was followed up with a 3-1 at Freehold.
Bolton le Sands top division one with two wins from two, having beaten Caton United 1-0 and edging a five goal thriller against Ingleton Reserves on Saturday.
Promoted Arnside met relegated Kirkby Lonsdale in their opening match in division one and drew 2-2. They fared better on Saturday though when they beat College AFC 3-0, while Kirkby Lonsdale went down 2-0 at home to Marsh United Reserves.
In division two Grange romped to a 4-1 victory against Allithwaite Rangers, before winning 2-0 against Carnforth Rangers Reserves on Saturday.
