MILNTHORPE Corinthians play Kendal County at Kendal Town FC on Saturday and Corinthians boss Keith Singleton is looking forward to the rematch after the sides battled out a goalless draw a fortnight ago.
Singleton said: “We had more than 200 people at Milnthorpe to watch the game so there is a lot of interest.
“We ‘ve had our problems recently with players missing but things will settle down and we will give a good account in a derby.”
Corinthians lost 3-0 at Whinney Hill on Saturday in a flattering result for the winners.
Cors were caught cold when going a goal down after two minutes and they battered the hosts’ goalmouth for the rest of the first half.
A one-on-one chance for Adam Garnett went begging when he shot straight at the keeper, and Steve Watson was on the end of a good move but blazed his shot over the bar.
The second half was more even and Cors paid for chasing the game when conceding two in the last 10 minutes.
a depleted Reserves went down 2-0 against Lytham.
BOOSTED by returning players, Ambleside United were back firing on all cylinders in the West Lancashire League.
Steve Edmondson’s side made it count on the scoresheet by coshing Lancashire Constabulary 11-0 on Saturday.
Striker Jamie Parkinson was back up front after resting a groin injury and led the way to goal with a four-timer.
Matt Parkinson bagged a brace and also on target were Tom Routledge,Tom Irvine, Mike Barron, Michael Yates and Neil Ubberchaw.
Zach Clark is back at the club after returning from Clitheroe which strengthens attacking options.
Edmondson said: “This was a good boost for us. We have got players back and the side looked confident and played some good stuff.
“Hopefully now we can kick on and get decent run going.”
Ambleside have no league match until Todmorden (away) on Saturday week, but play Kirksowald away in the semi-finals of the Westmorland FA Invitation Trophy.
KENDAL County fell behind controversially at Bolton County when the referee ignored the linesman’s flag as the left winger broke through and the ball was smashed into the net.
County equalised when Clough worked the ball up to Joe Baker who prodded home at the second attempt.
The visitors fell behind again to make it 2-1 at half time and spurned numerous opportunities in the second half before Bolton scored again to go 3-1 up. Looking down and out, County received a lifeline when Ferguson was tripped and Wilson slotted in the penalty.
Then iIn stoppage time Wilson guided a free kick sweetly into the bottom corner to rescue a point for County.
Manager Dave Chambers said: “A disappointing result again, definitely two points dropped, but we are paying the price for not converting our chances.
“Every game we could have scored at least five but we seem to be lacking composure in front of goal.”
