South Lakes football fans urged to donate unwanted kit

FOOTBALL fans across the South Lakes are being urged to donate unwanted football shirts to KitAid.

The charity helps under-privileged children and adults in more than 30 countries and shorts, boots, goalkeeping gloves and shin pads can be donated through Kendal Town FC.

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League is working in partnership with KitAid, and the club, as a member of the league, will collect donations in its CosySeal Stadium boardroom, before they are sent off to the charity.

Alan Allcock, operations manager for Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, said: “As a league, we know only too well the importance of giving young people and adults opportunities through sport so we’re taking this opportunity to appeal to local people to consider donating their old kit to a really worthy cause.

“Just give it a wash and drop it off at Kendal Town FC and we’ll do the rest.”

Kendal Town will be accepting donations until the end of the 2011/12 season.
