BUDDING sports commentators from the South Lakes could be reporting on England’s upcoming friendly against Holland at Wembley later this month through the FA Tesco Skills Programme.
The FA, in conjunction with Tesco, is looking for the next generation of commentators to report from FA Tesco Skills sessions and select football matches - including the Wembley friendly on February 29.
Two young fans, aged 8-11, will be selected on the basis of their reporting skills as an aspiring pundit and they will be appointed guest writer for their own column in the national newspaper for children, First News.
To be considered children will have to make their case for why they should be chosen, demonstrating their talent for commentating by writing a 200-word report on a recent game they have watched.
Entries should be submitted to fatescoyoungpundits@launchgroup.co.uk by Tuesday.
