It's a Wynn and tonic for Ashcroft

KENDAL Town have completed the signing of midfielder Liam Wynn for the next month.

It rounded off a good week for the Black and Whites, who showed true character to come from behind in their opening matches to pick up successive draws with Stafford Rangers on Saturday and Nantwich Town on Tuesday night.

The former Fleetwood man was on loan to Blue Square North side Vauxhall Motors for the second half of last season, and boss Lee Ashcroft has been hunting his signature for some time.

He was signed on Tuesday and put straight into the side that drew with Nantwich, with Danny Wisdom reverted to left back in place of Paul Alexander.

Boss Lee Ashcroft hopes the combative midfielder is impressed by the club’s set-up enough to agree to sign on for longer than his original month.

“I tried to sign him when he went to Vauxhall Motors - he’s a very good player.

“He’s here for a month and if he enjoys it we’ll see if he wants to stay for longer.”
