STRIKER Danny Mitchley has left Kendal Town and signed for Evo-Stik Premier Division side Skelmersdale United – the club he played for until the age of 15.

Mitchley initially joined the Parkside Road club on loan from Altrincham and impressed despite the Mintcakes suffering relegation to Evo-Stik First Division North.

The 24-year-old went on to score 26 goals for Kendal last season, making him the second highest goalscorer in the league behind Ramsbottom United’s Lee Gaskell.

Mitchley started his senior career with Blackpool and has always remained keen to climb the football ladder and perhaps make it back to the full-time game.
