KENDAL Town Football Club has announced a new stadium sponsorship deal and development link with Lancaster & Morecambe College (LMC).

Kendal’s Parkside Road stadium will now be known as the Lancaster & Morecambe College Stadium.

The College will use the Mintcake’s grass pitch to play developmental competition games and Kendal Town will use the College’s 3G all-weather pitch for training.

LMC students will also gain free admission to Kendal Town home league games.

“I am delighted to secure this link with an ambitious and growing local College who take in many of its students from South Lakeland,” said chairman Haydon Munslow.

“LMC have a developed football offering and not only will this raise the College’s profile locally, it will also open up a developmental gateway to Kendal Town.

“I am keen we give every opportunity for local players who live, work or study in the area to feature in our men’s, ladies or our CDS youth teams. We are a community based not for profit football club here for the benefit of South Lakeland.

"This is a further chance for more young people to come along and get involved."

Iain Parkinson, Programme Area Manager of Sport and Public Services, added: “This link will ensure more young people have the opportunity to get involved in their community and make the most of the facilities that are available on their doorstep; at the football club and at LMC.

“The facilities at Kendal Town FC are excellent and we are looking forward to our students, and future students, being able to make the most of these through their college courses.”
