KENDAL Town FC have confirmed their new head coach for next season will be last season's assistant manager Dave Foster.

Foster led the Mintcakes in the last campaign alongside Gary Fawcett, and secured a 15th place finish in the First Division North league.

The club advertised for applications for the role to be submitted by May 8, as it sought a new coach with 'a track record of success of being a manager or head coach at this level'.

At the time, chairman George Gudgeon described the vacancy as a 'restructuring' of the club.

A statement on the club's website read: "We were pleased with the calibre of candidates for the position of head coach, and are grateful to all that applied.

"After careful consideration the decision was based on what was best for the club at this stage of its development."

Foster will again work alongside Fawcett in the next campaign, with the added assistance of Steve Whitehouse, who has been involved with the coaching set-up of Kendal Town Ladies.
