Kendal have had the best season that I think they could ever have had!

To make it to the playoffs and then to push the eventual playoff winners all the way through the 90 minutes and extra time shows how far this team have come.

Kendal came so close in the semis, losing 4-3 was no disgrace, a new found respect and admiration has been formed about Kendal, and even though they missed out on promotion alot of people see Town in a different light to the one that was seen before.

The future is an exciting one as Kendal will be one of the promotion favourites, based on the 2008-2009 campaign. With Eastwood and Ilkeston promoted that makes Town's chances even better. The league will still be strong, with the likes of Hyde,Burscough and possibly Hucknall coming down from The Conference North. However i think the threats will come from those that have gone up from The Unibond North League, in Durham and Newcastle Blue Star.

Both have good support and contain alot of talented players within their squads.

Ashy has stated that if he can keep the same squad of players together he would, but he anticpates that a couple will leave, and as league clubs have come down to scout the players, theirs probably an inevitability that one or two will go. Who those 2 are i can only speculate at the moment, however once I know for certain i will post it on here.

In the mean time Town have a match against a Manchester United select 11 to look forward too which is a fitting way to end the season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be there, as he's their manager and i think some players that have played in the 1st team for United could also be involved!

I just want to close by thanking everybody that has taken time in reading my blogs this season. It has been enjoyable doing them for 2 seasons now and i plan to be back next campaign all being well!

Enjoy the summer and i will be back for pre season in July!
