It was another satisfactory weekend for all at Kendal Town FC after getting a point down at Boston.

I didn’t go to the match but from what I hear and read, Town more than held their own against a very difficult team, David Newnes was also in fine form between the sticks, making some crucial saves at crucial moments.

Kendal could have won it at the death with Alex Taylor, but despite him missing that chance, Town overall I felt were happy with their afternoons work.

It’s a long journey going to Boston, but the ground is one of the best in the league, and with a good playing surface it’s certainly worth the 4 and a bit hour journey.

That’s now 7 points out of 9 which from Ashys point of view is a great start, Kendal have always been notoriously slow starters to a league season, so to go against that trend for once is a good sign for the rest of the campaign.

However Tuesday night will be a very tough test, when Kendal host Bradford Park Avenue at Parkside Road. They are another of those teams that have high expectations, and with the players and the management structure that they have got they should be in the promotion mix come the end of the season.

Bradfords main threat will come through Aidan Savoury a striker that they signed from Ossett, also Chris Hall will be a danger starting the season in a rich vein of form BPA’s results have also been impressive with the 3-2 win over FC United their highlight win of the season so far.

Kendal have good memories of this fixture last season as they defeated the visitor’s 5-0 at Parkside Road, and even though BPA will come in a determined fashion, Town will be looking to keep up their good run of form!
