Theirs such a fine line between victory and defeat, and at the weekend Kendal were left wondering how they never managed to come away with anything.

Saturdays match at Nuneaton was the biggest game of the season for both teams and with an fa cup 1st round place up for grabs both sides were very committed to the cause.

Kendal had the better of it, creating more chances, whilst David Newnes was left with nothing to do in goal, However for all of Kendal’s chances, they just couldn’t find that crucial break through which would have made all the difference. Kendal will also point to a clear penalty appeal which was turned down, a decision which left everybody shocked (even the Nuneaton bench).

In the end conceding so late was what the FA Cup is all about, 1 mistake, and bang before you know it you are staring an FA Cup exit in the face.

At the end all Kendal players and supporters of Kendal were left stunned and disappointed, but from the fans perspective they chanted the team off acknowledging that the team gave everything they could.

Now Ashy has the task of lifting his chargers for a league campaign which for the past 3 weeks has been put on the back burner. And it really starts tonight (Tuesday), when they travel up to crisis club Durham, on paper Kendal should claim the crucial victory however Durham won’t be an easy match despite their troubles and the battle will be more psychological for Kendal more than anything else.

It’s definitely a key match for the team, with the cup distractions Town are down in 10th place with games in hand, and it’s essential they come away from Durham with the victory. A victory which will give Kendal some momentum for Saturday’s home match with Stocksbridge.
