Kendal are getting themselves into the groove again, 2 straight league wins, and things are starting to look good.

Saturday’s 3-2 win at Nantwich was Town’s 2nd straight win, which puts them 3 points in touch of a play off spot with 5 games in hand on leaders Bradford Park Avenue.

This week is a massive week for the club, not only do they face 2 home matches, they will also get the final verdict in the Lee Ashcroft appeal.

The appeal is down to a 3 month suspension which the FA gave Ashy following an alleged incident in the King’s Lynn home match a few months back.

How the appeal goes could affect the rest of Kendal Town’s season, I hope that the powers that be use some common sense and either reduce the punishment, or lift the ban!. I do hold some hope that common sense will prevail come Friday, I can’t see why banning a manager from the club for that length of time can help or set an example?

Before the dramas of Friday unfold Kendal (hopefully) host Burscough on Tuesday night. Burscough defeated Kendal 3-0 a few weeks ago, it wasn’t a good afternoon at the office, I think Ashy was more annoyed after the Burscough defeat than he was when they lost 3-0 at Matlock a few weeks later.

I know that Kendal will be looking to even the score following the disappointment of Burscough. Burscough have some former Kendal Town players in their ranks in Dave Standley and Tony Hallam whilst Kendal have some former Burscough players in their ranks in, David Newnes, Lee Mulvaney, and Jay Connelly.

However the match is an opportunity for Kendal to get some points, Burscough will be reeling from the 2-1 defeat they suffered to Marine at the weekend, and will also be in determined mood. For Kendal it’s important they go out and keep the run going, before they host Buxton on Saturday, let’s just hope that come the end of the week the manager is still in the dug outs and Kendal’s promotion hopes are still on course.
